Curriculum
At Tackling U each student is filmed and evaluated by our coaches. Each student is given access to our Hudl where our coaches can provide parents and students with feedback as they advance through our program.

Freshman Class: Contact
This level is all about making controlled and dominant shoulder contact. Students become comfortable with contact while learning foundational components of effective shoulder tackling within a controlled environment. The focus is on shoulder placement, footwork, and timing into contact.
Sophomore Class: Tracking
In our sophomore class, it’s time to focus on getting to the ball carrier as quickly as possible. At this level, students learn how to effectively track the ball carrier under control, with the correct leverage and footwork. Here, we focus on closing space using the proper footwork and leverage.

Juniors: Hone Your Skill
Our junior class focuses on getting better. Since Tackling University films and assesses its students, we let the data shape the plan, drills, and direction. Based on the observations and assessments developed at the earlier levels, drills & games in this class are specifically tailored to address opportunities for improvement by working with the student to hone their skill.
Seniors: Tie It All Together
We tie it all together in our senior class. Students at this level apply the tackling technique learned within the context of their defensive position. Drills are designed to place students in situations they will experience on game day.
